This was the first film produced entirely by VSA.
Which means, I (Alan) did it almost entirely by myself.
It is a ‘motion comic’ which means there is no animation other than simply moving still images around on the screen like a documentary. The point was to tell a story about these 4 children who found themselves caught in Texas on the opening day of the Mexican/American war. I hope I said something about how we become who we are as individuals, and about the role of the individual in war time.
It was purposefully drawn in a children’s story book style, and scored using bluegrass instrumentation (in honor of Texas) with harmonic content borrowed from impressionism, which will make sense to you by the end of the story (hopefully).
